Emergence 3:490:00/3:49
Before writing this album, I had come to a creative impasse. I felt like I had lost my passion for jazz music I was writing and playing. A dear and trusted friend recommended that I quit composing and playing completely. To my relief, I did just that! Two weeks after quitting, I heard the music of the album, Emergence, coming through me.
The music felt authentic to me, and fairly easy to write and play. It's not that I didn't like writing before, but that the new music felt more natural and aligned with my current life. It is my wish that this album might inspire listeners to trust their own creative cycles and to find authentic expression! Although the life/death/rebirth cycle can be uncomfortable, it might be essential that we trust these cycles in order to find our truest paths.
